ATSICHS Social Housing

A home should be more than just a place to live¡ªit should provide comfort, security, and a sense of belonging.

In Deception Bay, we worked with Deicke Richards Architects and Bluebird Property to support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) and the Department of Housing and Public Works in delivering 75 affordable housing units for people aged 55 and over.

Positioned along Deception Bay Road, a busy state transport corridor, the site faced challenges with traffic noise. We provided acoustic advice to manage noise from the roadway and the adjoining commercial properties and meet the requirements of the relevant regulatory agencies for the project.?

Given the significant traffic volume and associated noise levels, our team developed an acoustic insulation strategy to allow control of noise intrusion into the apartments using practical and cost-effective solutions suitable for the provision of affordable housing. By addressing these environmental factors, we helped create a comfortable, peaceful living environment that respects and reflects the values of the First Nations People in the local community.
