Silverdale Road Stage 2 - Construction Management Services
The Wollondilly area is set for significant population growth, further stimulated by the Western Sydney Airport construction due to finish in 2026. Silverdale Road acts as north-south link in the area with varying road quality and a notable crash record. Coupled with the new airport construction, this was likely to exacerbate safety concerns.
Wollondilly Council successfully obtained a Federally funded grant application for upgrade works to improve the road. Separated into four rounds of funding, Stage 2 saw the progression from concept design through to detailed design, and the first stages of construction, which included pavements improvements, road widening, and stormwater installation of other road safety measures. The Council engaged us to assist with the design management by a third party to finalise the concept, tender, and construction packages. Working with Transport for NSW, we helped manage interested parties. We were also involved in contract administration and site superintendency, project reporting, and close out.
We now continue to assist with the next stage of the program, after assisting Council with the successful grant application for additional funding via the Western Sydney Infrastructure Program. These improvements to Silverdale Road will help keep the road safe for pedestrians and drivers alike.
