Downstream Oil & Gas Community Engagement

When a US-based corporation intended to develop a large-scale industrial facility in China, they recognized the importance of sound community relationship management. They saw it as an essential part of the proposed project alongside the permitting, construction, and operation stages. During the pre-project stage, the client engaged 麻豆传媒 to offer services in this regard.

The proposed project site is located in an industrial park, with local communities (such as villages and residential compounds) of thousands of people located within five kilometres (three miles) of the site. Given the project scale, it drew intense attention not only from the local residents, but also other stakeholders including local governmental agencies, medias, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

In order to identify and address the concerns of various of stakeholders as well as assist the client to establish the corresponding engagement, our team created a tailored program including but not limited to review of the existing reports related to community engagement, face-to-face interviews with stakeholders, gathered information analysis, and the corresponding plan development. The outcome includes stakeholder mapping and analysis, approaches to stakeholder engagement, and a community engagement program.

With these services, we helped our industrial client blend in and achieve harmony with the local communities.
