Indigenous Relations & Partnerships

At Â鶹´«Ã½, we¡¯re always looking for ways to build stronger connections with communities, and meaningful engagement with Indigenous Peoples and businesses, as well as commitment to the prosperity of Indigenous communities, is essential to our business objectives and our promise: with every community, we redefine what's possible.

It¡¯s important that our approach to Indigenous Relations¡ªwhether recruiting Indigenous candidates, supporting their career growth, or working alongside Indigenous communities and businesses¡ªconsiders the histories, cultures, and values of Indigenous Peoples. There isn't a one-size-fits-all approach, so we craft a solution that fits for the project and the community.

Successful Indigenous Partnerships are built on a foundation of mutual respect, common goals, opportunities for employment, and an understanding of the local community. Since 2000, we have been building partnerships that are focused on a lasting connection to deliver technical services with the local Â鶹´«Ã½ of our partners.

Our approach

Stantec¡¯s Indigenous Relations and Partnerships approach is made up of four pillars that integrate Â鶹´«Ã½¡¯s core values with the desired outcomes of the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program: being an employer of choice, promoting awareness, active engagement, and creating opportunities.

Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR)

We want to respond effectively to the hopes and needs of Indigenous Peoples. Achieving a Bronze level certification in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program from the Canadian Council of Indigenous Business shows our commitment to building strong, respectful, and mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous communities. The PAIR program is a certification that recognizes organizations that actively engage with Indigenous communities in a meaningful, respectful, and collaborative way.
