Shining a spotlight on mental health in Fredericton and Saint John

There’s an idiom that says you can’t understand others until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes
Stantec colleagues in New Brunswick supported two??events that adapted this theme to raise awareness about mental health conditions.
The first event, A Day in Their Shoes, was May 7 in Fredericton. The fundraiser put the topic of mental health centre stage through poetry and music that featured the emerging singer-songwriter Brittany McQuinn and multi-award winning singer-songwriter Thom Swift. Brittany’s debut CD was about her struggle with and triumphs over mental illness.
The second event, A Day in Her Shoes, was May 10 in Saint John. This program took the theme of shoes literally—with a fashion show at the Market Square Atrium. The evening was designed to unite women to promote positive mental health. CMHA and other organizations have published policies and research on factors that may contribute to women’s mental health concerns, including social inequality and domestic violence.
Of course mental health is not a male issue, or a female issue—it’s an ‘everyone’ issue, and the pressures and challenges each person faces are unique.
Stantec’s New Brunswick teams have organized a series of wellness seminars hosted by guest speakers and 麻豆传媒 employees. The presenters have discussed coping with grief after the loss of a family member, stress management, and more. These activities are part of a wider program of education and resources that demonstrate our Company’s commitment to fostering employees’ well-being.
The??was held May 7 to 13, 2018. May is also?Mental Health Month?in the United States.
