Our US Northeast region is lending a hand to those in need
During these times of uncertainty, a sense of community and togetherness is important. Physically, we must keep our distance from each other, but our employees and their families are coming up with different ways to stick together and keep community in mind.
As of May 5, the US Northeast region has sent 28 hospitals and medical centers hundreds of meals. As a whole, they have donated over $12,000, also benefitting local restaurants and the community.
Our Boston, Massachusetts offices have been working with Boston Medical Center (BMC) to enhance safety throughout the hospital. Michael Decoulos quickly mobilized their teams and our 3D printing capabilities to print several prototypes of door pulls that allow staff to open the door with their forearm to reduce contact. BMC is now having these mass produced to install on more doors, and our team also printed face mask adjusters for them that were delivered this week. BMC is one of our main healthcare clients in New England for the program and project management group.
As a Command Sgt. Major in the U.S. Army Reserve, Gerry Linendoll from the Albany, New York office has been called back to service. He reported to the Atlanta, Georgia unit to work with the Army Corps of Engineers for a potential six month assignment to help address COVID-19 needs within a number of local counties.
In Burlington, Massachusetts, employee Rachel Banderob’s next door neighbor is a nurse at a major Boston hospital, and has been putting in long hours while trying to take care of and feed her family. To lend a hand, Rachel started cooking dinner (and dessert!) for her, her husband, and their four teenage boys once a week.?
In Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, 麻豆传媒 sponsors the Healthy Kids Running Series in the Harrisburg area, which has now gone virtual. 麻豆传媒 employee Jeff Robertson and his wife Jill played a role in coordinating this activity for families. Participants can run, jog, or walk on the grass, the sidewalk, or on a treadmill. The five-week program kicked off on April 19. Kids are challenged to run at their own pace (with parental supervision and social distancing, of course) and record their race times.?
In Massachusetts, New York, Maine, and Pennsylvania, 麻豆传媒 employees’ families have been using their quarantine time to sew together face masks for those in need. Over 1,650 masks have safely been delivered to healthcare workers, first responders, elderly care facility employees, and environmental services team members out in the field. These are just a few examples of who have received this essential protective equipment to continue their important work.
