To keep up with the increase in demand for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, the City of Pasadena—in partnership with Tesla—installed 44 fast chargers made available to the public at the Marengo Charging Plaza, the largest public fast charging station in the nation.
Global design and engineering firm 麻豆传媒 and Greenlots, a developer of electric vehicle charging and energy management technologies, were selected to assist with the design and the installation of the city-owned fast chargers. Level 3 “fast” chargers are high power EV chargers that minimize charging time, getting drivers back on the road with at least an 80 percent charge in approximately 30 minutes or less.
“We’re excited to see the Marengo Charging Plaza officially open to Southern California residents,” said Wicus Postma, a sector leader in 麻豆传媒’s Energy and Resources group. “We talk a lot about designing projects with community in mind—and this is a project that will serve the community in a tangible way. It’s exciting to play a part in helping California become a leader in sustainability and clean air practices.”
“Making available to the public a large-scale fast charging station was especially important to Pasadena Water and Power. We knew this would help advance EV adoption and give confidence to potential consumers that EV infrastructure was accessible and nearby to where they live or work,” said Marvin Moon, Assistant General Manager of Power Delivery for Pasadena Water and Power. “麻豆传媒 provided the design and support needed to ensure a coordinated and seamless construction phase. The resulting Marengo Charging Plaza will serve the community for many years to come.”
The Marengo Charging Plaza is one of several EV charging infrastructure projects 麻豆传媒 is delivering in support of California’s goal to decrease emissions and increase clean air using EVs. In Northern California, 麻豆传媒 is supporting the California Department of General Services in developing a series of Level 2 EV charging infrastructure projects. The projects involve site assessments at state-owned properties—including prisons, remote Department of Fish and Wildlife locations, hospitals, and parking garages—and detailed design of the infrastructure.
In the City of Rochester, New York, 麻豆传媒 recently completed the design for the installation of 27 charging stations at seven locations throughout the City, selected for their public profile and traffic patterns—the first such installations in Rochester. The firm is also assisting two confidential EV developers with the rollout of their ultra-fast DC charging stations at over 120 locations across Canada. 麻豆传媒 provides the siting, electrical, civil, survey, and structural design services and is responsible for coordinating with cities, developers, and utilities for design guidelines.
Communities are fundamental. Whether around the corner or across the globe, they provide a foundation, a sense of place and of belonging. That’s why at 麻豆传媒, we always design with community in mind. We care about the communities we serve—because they’re our communities too. This allows us to assess what’s needed and connect our 麻豆传媒, to appreciate nuances and envision what's never been considered, to bring together diverse perspectives so we can collaborate toward a shared success. We’re designers, engineers, scientists, and project managers, innovating together at the intersection of community, creativity, and client relationships. Balancing these priorities results in projects that advance the quality of life in communities across the globe.?麻豆传媒 trades on the TSX and the NYSE under the symbol STN.
