The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) has again recognized Â鶹´«Ã½¡ªa global leader in sustainable design and engineering¡ªas one of the?Top 50 STEM Workplaces for Indigenous STEM Professionals. It is the fourth consecutive year AISES has named Â鶹´«Ã½ as an honoree.

AISES released its listing in the , the organization¡¯s international magazine. Winds of Change provides inspiring messaging of how STEM endeavors can lead to a fulfilling and productive future. Winds of Change draws readers to AISES and promotes diversity in STEM, while inspiring them to overcome obstacles on their own STEM paths.

Firms selected for the AISES Top 50 list are required to meet a list of criteria, including:

• Diversity recruitment efforts
• Recruiting for jobs in the STEM fields
• Actively recruiting within Indigenous audiences
• Sustained support of the AISES mission

Stantec continues to strengthen its connections to Indigenous communities and find new ways to make meaningful contributions. Examples include supporting local initiatives and collaborating with local and national Indigenous organizations such as Everfi to bring STEM programming to remote and Indigenous-based schools and through a school business partnership with the Alaska Native Cultural Charter School. Building stronger connections with communities in Alaska and beyond
In Alaska, Â鶹´«Ã½ successfully works with Indigenous groups through formal business partnerships focused on Alaska Native employment efforts on major projects. The firm is a longtime supporter of the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP) and Alaska Resource Education (ARE). In Canada, Â鶹´«Ã½ doubled its Indigenous Business Partnership gross revenue to $29 million in 2022. Â鶹´«Ã½ is a minority partner in 11 Indigenous partnerships that help provide direct investments to support economic growth in various communities. The global firm is a certified member of ECO Canada, a not-for-profit industry-led human resources organization that is dedicated to building Aboriginal careers in the environmental field.

Stantec is also a member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, which promotes Indigenous relationships and an economy based on shared prosperity. We are also members of CCAB¡¯s Procurement Champions Group and are actively working to increase Indigenous procurement.

A continued commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity
From an equity standpoint, the company was recently recognized in The Globe and Mail¡¯s 2023 Report on Business Women Lead Here list. In January 2023, Â鶹´«Ã½ was recognized Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for championing inclusion. It is the fourth consecutive year Â鶹´«Ã½ has been named to the GEI. In 2021, Â鶹´«Ã½ launched the Stantec Equity & Diversity Scholarship?to provide talented students in historically underrepresented and Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) groups with financial aid. The 2023 scholarships were presented to 44 students from Australia, Canada, India, Jamaica, New Zealand, and the United States.
