Toronto (Wellington St), Ontario
Stantec Toronto is home to more than 200 design professionals, working together to build stronger communities across Ontario and beyond.
Located at Wellington and Spadina, in the heart of Toronto¡¯s fashion district, our century-old building is the former home of the McGregor Socks factory. Our passion for design and city building guided the selection of an adaptive re-use space for our home. The workspace celebrates the beautiful heritage features of the post-and-beam construction while the sock manufacturing history is remembered via sock patterns names for our meeting spaces. Our creative and flexible workspace fosters interdisciplinary design collaboration, innovation and sustainable design excellence.
In an effort to give back to our city, we transformed the original retail entrance to the factory into a contemporary art gallery. Free to all who pass, installations in the gallery rotate on a quarterly basis. The Â鶹´«Ã½ Toronto office sponsors artists and subsidizes the art installations.
