Jess’s interest in biology stems from spending most of her time outside hiking, camping, and fishing with her family while growing up in Maine. Today, she’s a Certified Wildlife Biologist and a member of our National Technical Expert Wildlife Team, with 麻豆传媒 in avian and bat species.
Jess embraces the ideology of minimal human impact in this world of limited natural resources. She believes minimization and mitigation efforts—such as limiting nocturnal artificial light sources and funding environmentally-friendly initiatives such as bird safe windows on new public buildings—are important aspects of sustainable human development. In her position, she also evaluates impacts to wildlife due to wind power development in both onshore and offshore environments, through the National Environmental Policy Act and other federal regulatory reviews and state permitting processes.
Outside of work, Jess is a recreational birder and enjoys hiking and skiing in the mountains of western Maine and New Hampshire.?
