Chu has spent 30 years integrating aesthetics with functionality and visual narrative with practicality. She believes the job of an architect and interior designer is to solve a client’s functional problem creatively and aesthetically—no matter what issue we face, or how small the project, we must always approach them with our designer’s hat on.
When making decisions, Chu likes to ask herself: “Does this result in a good design product? Do I bring value to my client through design?” She has extensive experience in both interior and exterior architecture, allowing her to craft seamless, holistic experiences that evoke emotional connections with visitors and building users. The emotion and connection are intentional and specific to each project, whether creating a sense of curiosity and exploration for a pediatric hospital, a sense of hope for a cancer center, or a sense of clarity for visually impaired patients.?
Chu’s design work has been acknowledged with awards from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), International Interior Design Association (IIDA), and Modern Healthcare, Interior Design Best of the Year.
