Mark Griffiths

Senior Principal, Industrial Buildings

Photo of Mark

Throughout his career, Mark has spent a lot of time in the field—building, commissioning, and turning over highly complex upstream and downstream facilities to clients all across Alberta. During that time, he’s noticed that there are two key opportunities in the industry.

First, there’s optimization. With the constantly improving field of software tools available, there’s always something non-traditional that can coordinate work processes or manage large quantities of work. The result? Cost and schedule predictability for his clients.

The second opportunity is the integration of other technologies like renewable energy principles. For Mark, it’s not just smart thinking, it’s quite simply the right thing to do. By combining renewable energy sources and other innovative technologies with oil and gas work, Mark is guaranteeing a bright future for his industry.

When Mark was offered the job of starting up and managing a new oil and gas subsector based in Regina, Saskatchewan, he saw it as an opportunity to integrate those two opportunities from the ground up. In Regina, Mark fills two rolls: he’s the business development manager (responsible for winning work) and he’s also the one executing the work.

When Mark isn’t on jobsites or converting preliminary designs into constructible facility plans, he’s working on his latest hobby: ranching and growing produce with his wife, daughter, and sons. It’s a small-scale, organic operation right now, but he’s hoping to expand slowly over the next few years.
