Bruce is an environmental and resource economist with over 15 years¡¯ experience of applying economic concepts to practical environmental management and sustainability at the national, European and international level, predominantly in the water sector. He leads Â鶹´«Ã½¡¯s work on environmental economics and natural capital and has extensive experience in natural and social capital accounting.
Bruce co-developed a leading tool for assessing the multiple benefits of blue-green infrastructure. He is currently working on a range of projects including net zero carbon strategies, the economic impacts of strategic water transfer schemes and evaluating the costs and benefits of reducing storm overflows.
In a previous role, Bruce was the water industry¡¯s lead policy adviser on a range of environmental issues, including climate change, water resources management, catchment management, and sustainable development. He has also worked as an environmental economist at the Environment Agency. He has a PhD and MA in Environmental Economics from the University of East Anglia.
Bruce is a Chartered Environmentalist with the Society for the Environment and a member of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists.?
