David Laroche

Archeologist – Human Environment

Photo of David

With a background in anthropology, David is an archaeologist cumulating more than twenty years of experience. He specializes in the prehistoric archaeology of the Canadian Shield. Throughout his career, he’s conducted various inventories, projects, studies, and digs throughout Quebec, particularly for the mining sector and on Indigenous lands.

As a specialist of the human environment, David is involved in environmental impact studies of areas covered by our projects. He combines theory with archaeological research—analyzing stone, bone, and pottery artifacts discovered in the field—to better understand how Indigenous peoples lived before the arrival of Europeans. Notably, he contributed his 麻豆传媒 as part of Quebec's vast La Grande Alliance infrastructure project, for which our team assessed, among other things, the archaeological potential of part of the Eeyou Istchee territory in northern Quebec.

David draws on his considerable interpretation skills to run information workshops and public consultations. He’s also the vice-president of ethics for the Quebec Archeology Association. When he's not at work, he enjoys reading science fiction, fantasy, and comic books, watching films, and playing video games.
