With 38 years in the building industry and 23 years as an Arizona State registered architect, Joel has spent the past 16 years as an ICC certified commercial plans examiner. For him, it’s all about the safety of our communities and the buildings we use. Joel understands that each building is a separate entity—each plan reviewed or inspected requires substantial architectural knowledge of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings.
Evaluating projects for design performance requires meeting and applying codes and regulations without sacrificing the registrant or owner’s vision and maintaining the integrity of the design. Joel and his team have been involved with many of the buildings permits and code compliance checks in downtown Tucson over the past ten years such as The Flin, RendezVous Urban Flats, The Citizens Hotel, Home2 Suites, Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson, The Marist on Cathedral Square, Playground Bar and Lounge, and 1 West Broadway.
In his spare time, Joel enjoys collecting and restoring antiques, landscaping, and cycling.
