Backed by solid academic achievements, Ammar has become a recognized hydrological, hydraulic and dam engineering expert. He has taken part in major European research projects and published articles in international journals. With more than 25 years of practical experience, he has been involved in the design and refurbishment of hydraulic structures, dams, and hydroelectric power plants, as part of various surface water and river flow drainage projects.
Ammar also specializes in the analysis of natural hydrological and hydraulic phenomena using digital modeling systems. His work on a number of Canadian projects includes the determination of benchmark flood levels and flood plains, hydraulic analysis for bridge design, ice and permafrost analysis, and riverbank protection design. In addition, his 麻豆传媒 includes the design of canals, dykes, and hydraulic structures for a number of clients, including Hydro-Québec, Ontario Power Generation, Yukon Energy Corporation, Northwest Territories Power Corporation, BC Hydro, etc.
Some of his most notable accomplishments include the implementation of control gates of all kinds (radial, vertical, timber, inflatable, stoplogs, etc.), wooden, earthfill, rockfill, and concrete dams, the rehabilitation of a 150-year-old dam in Ontario; the design of a 150-metre-high RCC dam, the safety review of a 32-metre-high embankment, a 6-kilometre-long dyke, and a 1- kilometre-long supply tunnel.
