Kirstie is a landscape architect specialising in urban design. As well as giving thorough detailed and high-level landscape advice, she provides full design packages for infrastructure projects and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design services. She also enjoys mentoring younger colleagues—this comes from her love of people, discovery, and learning.
For Kirstie, her work's important in our community for one overpowering and inescapable reason: natural systems are central to our response to the climate crisis.?She firmly believes that local landscapes are our design framework and language for building a resilient world. What sets Kirstie apart from her contemporaries is her innovative and sustainable visions, weaving threads of landscape together and incorporating landscape values into infrastructure projects—like Cashmere Valley, a project balancing stormwater flow, storage, and sediment filtration with habitat for birds, fish, and lizards, plus a full track network amongst native wetland, grassland, and forest planting.
Antithetical to nature, sci-fi is her thing out of work. Add baking to that, skiing, reading, coffee and cycling.
