Amanda Voges

Environmental Scientist

Photo of Amanda

Having grown up as a camper and traveler, Amanda is passionate about protecting the environment and natural resources. Working as an intern in the Lowcountry wetlands (a region of South Carolina’s coast) led her to a career in environmental science.

Now, as an environmental scientist, Amanda focuses on technical and ecological resource assessments, environmental permitting, and compliance. The projects she works on involve transportation, utilities and renewable energy, stormwater management, ecosystem restoration, and mitigation.

Amanda knows any project in a coastal county has its challenges, especially when tidal marshes or threatened and endangered species and multiple permits are included. One of her most challenging projects involved re-opening a roadway that washed out from flooding. It required intense regulatory coordination, 401/404 permitting, design (culvert, stream, and roadway), and construction support.

While she does plenty of field work, Amanda enjoys nature in her free time too—whether it’s cleaning up a marsh or beach, backpacking, or traveling. ?
