Glenaeon Retirement Village
When Lendlease wanted to expand their aged care housing options at the multistory Glenaeon Retirement Village in Belrose, they brought us in to help add more residences. Lendlease believes in collaboration and community-focused living, and this expansion needed to be configured to focus on connecting residents.
We provided multidisciplinary engineering services to deliver an efficient and modern scheme, from pre-development approval (DA) services through post-construction. The proposed site for the new buildings? The side of a hill. That proved challenging due to unknown ground conditions, difficult site access, and a significant grade. We found smart ways around these challenges including offering embedded networks where the utility providers contributed capital items. Ensuring detailed coordination between architecture, structure, and services was key to maximizing efficiencies in delivery.
The team worked closely with Lendlease to meet standards and maintain the project quality within a strict budget. And the result?? Three new buildings with landscaped gardens and bushlands that introduced 60 independent living dwellings and a common carpark to the existing site.
