North East Link Primary Package

Part of the Victorian Government¡¯s program of city-shaping infrastructure, the North East Link (NEL) will connect the M80 ring road with an upgraded Eastern Freeway. We are working with Spark to deliver multidisciplinary services on the primary package, following our contribution through the NEL public-private partnership tender and successful delivery of the early works package.

We carried out utilities relocation for over 100 assets, managing several service providers and coordinating daily with surface works designers for clash free design. We used digital modeling and information management for real time sharing of information with stakeholders and consultants.

Additionally, we are delivering multiple temporary works packages. This includes major road diversions to facilitate construction of the northern and southern portal structures while maintaining existing traffic patterns and access to adjacent properties, construction compounds, and work sites.

Our services also include detailed traffic staging strategy and design for the primary package and all secondary packages.

Along with filling in the missing link in Melbourne¡¯s freeway network, the NEL will take 15,000 trucks a day off local roads and slash travel times by up to 35 minutes. The primary package is currently underway, with construction expected to be completed by 2028.
