Port Beach Nourishment Environmental Approvals

The City of Fremantle needed a team to help complete the terrestrial component of an environmental impact assessment at Port Beach in North Fremantle, Western Australia. They engaged our environmental approvals team, partnered with BMT, to deliver the works.

We obtained and managed relevant environmental approvals for the project, which included an approvals strategy, developing the approvals application for the terrestrial components, and providing technical information specifically for the greenhouse gas assessment. While greenhouse gas emissions were not considered a key factor for environmental impact assessments, evidence was still required to demonstrate that the project would not have a significant impact on the environment. We also undertook a detailed accounting activity of the construction and operational phase of the project both onshore and offshore.

Ultimately, the city obtained the required approvals and were able to move forward with the project.
