Capital Region Growth

The Partnership of the Manitoba Capital Region (PMCR) contains 7,795 square kilometers of agricultural, rural, residential, industrial and urban locales. To prepare for with growth in the region and analyze the existing population, they needed to make a Regional Growth Strategy (RGS), but they needed some help¡ªthat¡¯s where we came in.

Managing the RGS required completing fundamental tasks and adapting to an evolving socio-political environment. The process required a high level of collaboration, coordination, and communication from our local team. We engaged subject matter experts from across the country and arranged workshops with international thought leaders from locations that included the Netherlands and New Zealand. Good data and innovative thinking enabled a more constructive consultation process, consensus decision-making, and forward momentum.?

The RGS spanned two years and required management to continuously adapt to new ideologies and build regional consensus. The RGS was completed during a period of significant political change, both federally and provincially. Ultimately, managing the RGS was an inherently evolving process that demanded innovation and modification.
