City of Toronto Bridge Program Management Assignments

Keeping the infrastructure of Canada¡¯s largest city current is a big task, especially when it comes to maintaining and constructing bridges. The City of Toronto engaged us to help with the rehabilitation and replacement of 63 bridges across the city. These include roadway bridges over highway and water crossings, railway bridges, and pedestrian bridges.?

We¡¯re providing preliminary design, detailed design, and contract administration in two phased management assignments. These assignments involve the structural assessment, analysis, preliminary design, and detailed design. Our work also includes tendering, contract administration and construction supervision, and post-construction documentation.

Bridge Program Management Assignment 1 comprised 24 bridges throughout Toronto that were designed and constructed over a three-year period. Bridge Program Management Assignment 2 consists of 39 bridges that will be designed and constructed over a four-year period. We¡¯ve successfully completed designs for the first three of four years and are administering the construction phases. The fourth year of design is underway.?

All efforts to date have come within or under the City¡¯s prescribed budgets, and within all year¡¯s design and construction schedules¡ªhelping to keep the city on the move.
