Place du Citoyen

Positioned between City Hall and the Municipal Library building, Place du Citoyen is one of the catalysts for a new architectural and urban image¡ªand a place for the Saguenay community to celebrate life throughout the four seasons. We contributed landscape architecture and engineering services. The objective? Return the downtown core to citizens through a vision of sustainable development.

Taking into account the completion of a future walkway over Saguenay Boulevard as well as construction of a staircase linking Place du Citoyen with Jacques-Cartier Street, we carried out the preparatory studies, development concept, plans and preliminary cost estimates, performance specifications, tendering, supervision, and as-built plans. We also coordinated the multidisciplinary team.?

The result? A flowing, open area that gives residents a peaceful urban oasis where they can enjoy the outdoors¡ªa space that includes modern amenities to make it sustainable while also paying tribute to the area¡¯s enduring history and culture.
