Plaza St-Hubert Redevelopment

Built in 1951, Plaza St-Hubert is a major commercial strip in Montreal that is home to 400 shops between Bellechasse and Jean-Talon streets. Faced with the need to upgrade the underground infrastructure, the City of Montreal decided to redevelop the public space entirely.

Our multidisciplinary team provided landscape architecture, civil, electrical and structural engineering, and traffic management services. Our experts produced the preliminary design, plans and specifications and provided office and site supervision.

Incorporating new sustainable development principles emphasizing intermodal connections and user-friendliness, the new Plaza St-Hubert has a modern new glass awning, wider sidewalks, inviting public areas, festive programmable lighting and new trees planted using an innovative system of tree wells. The wells provide the trees with 8.5?m3 of growing space for their roots and allow for integrated storm water management.
