Toronto Pearson International Airport - Terminal 3 Enhancement Program
Toronto Airport serves approximately 39 million passengers every year. It has two terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Built in the 80s, Terminal 3 was in need of some redevelopment, and we were chosen as prime consultant in architectural and engineering services. The Toronto Airport¡¯s goal? Become a global hub and position themselves at the forefront of the improved guest experience in aviation.
They wanted designs that would shorten transfer times, maximize staff efficiency, and optimize airport processes. We reconfigured and expanded the US Customs Border Protection area and relocated the security stops. Passengers can process through faster with three new pre-board screening points. The departures-level retail and food facilities got an upgrade, we modernized the baggage handling systems, and with some energy-system upgrades, we reduced overall energy consumption.
Thousands of guests move through Terminal 3 every day. With easier transitions through check-in, screening, and security, more access to retail and food facilities, and smoother operations behind the scenes, Toronto Airport is well on its way to improving experiences and increasing revenues.?
