South East Water Self-Service PFI Portal

Managing a resource like water effectively requires access to reliable data. South East Water (SEW) authority in Melbourne engaged Â鶹´«Ã½ to assist in reviewing their existing Pressure and Flow Information (PFI) modeling methodology, and to develop a new web portal for customer use.

After evaluating the best-practices of other water authorities in the State of Victoria, and completing a comprehensive review of PFI methodologies, a bulk approach was adopted to simulate PFI delivery to cover all customers, rather than running individual simulations on an ad-hoc basis. This approach offers greater consistency and reliability across the results. Our team then developed a programmed script to allow access to the data via an online portal.?

The new process reduces inherent risks associated with manual manipulation of large datasets and provides a repeatable process, allowing data to be easily updated or expanded by SEW in future. The revised PFI methodology allows efficient management and direction of information via SEW¡¯s self-service online portal, providing an instant service to the community.
