730 Third Ave Building Renovation
Located at 730 Third Avenue in an older building, the headquarters for the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA) Financial Services needed to be updated. Our team was there to help make it happen.
The office received some much-needed updates, including a ground and second floor fa?ade renovation, a lobby with a feature spiral stair, a full floor amenity space, and a rooftop terrace. The entire fa?ade was reclad and reglazed, featuring self-tinting windows to help improve energy efficiency. $28 million in commercial property assessed clean energy (C-PACE) financing was provided to the project and provided for energy efficient upgrades. Our team provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services, as well as structural engineering services on this renovation building project. Differing conditions throughout the building (caused by three unique constructions occurring in the 50¡¯s, 60¡¯s, and 90¡¯s) and our client¡¯s requirement that building occupancy be undisturbed created challenges. Our team frequently visited the site throughout the design and construction phases to review and provide recommendations.
This project is certified LEED Gold and brings TIAA Financial Services closer to meeting the standards of Local Law 97.
