Capital Program Management & Program Controls
In 2009, the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD) embarked on one of the largest public works programs in the history of the community¡ªthe Wet Weather Improvement Program (WWIP). Developed as part of a United States Environmental Protection Agency Consent Decree, the WWIP will help reduce sewer overflows and their impact on the community.
Our team was hired in 2016 to provide construction management of the largest Phase 1 project¡ªthe Lick Run Greenway, part of the Lower Mill Creek Partial Remedy (LMCPR). This cornerstone project was designed to significantly reduce combined sewer overflows (CSO) at one of the largest CSO structures in the City and achieved its regulatory milestone in January 2020.
In 2018, MSD selected Â鶹´«Ã½ for a new capital program management and program controls management contract. This program includes implementation of Phase 2A and subsequent phases of the WWIP in addition to all of the asset management (AM) projects that comprise MSD¡¯s annual Capital Improvement Program (CIP). During mobilization, our integrated program management team defined the systems, procedures, and platforms that are required for successful delivery of the CIP in future years.
Moving forward, program priorities will include implementation of a refined asset management strategy to drive the CIP planning process and subsequent AM projects, as well as management of the Phase 2A WWIP.
