North Metro Rail Line
With the economic boom Denver is experiencing, the city is searching for new ways to meet transportation demand. This new rail line gives residents a unique opportunity to live near public transportation and will allow developers to build transit-oriented communities around it.
As the lead designer on Phase 1 of Denver Regional Transportation District¡¯s North Metro Rail Line, Â鶹´«Ã½ designed the $350 million, 13.3-mile first phase.?This 18.5-mile electrified commuter rail line connects Denver Union Station to North Adams County, increasing mobility for Denver-area residents.
One of the biggest elements of this project is an 8,500-foot-long elevated track to carry trains over a critical segment of rail, road, irrigation, and environmental conflicts. The North Metro Rail Line also includes the addition of six commuter rail stations in the first phase¡ªand a total of eight stations at design completion¡ªwith associated parking and multimodal access integrated with RTD¡¯s bus transit system. The end goal: to seamlessly integrate Denver¡¯s existing public transit system with the new rail extension providing greater mobility for people to get to home, to work, and beyond.
