Penn State University, Beaver Campus - Michael Baker Building

Built in 1968, the Pennsylvania State University¡¯s Michael Baker Building is home to engineering, science, computer, and communications labs as well as classrooms and faculty offices. With nearly a third of students at the Beaver campus pursuing science or engineering majors, the sixty-year-old building needed some renovations and updates.

Focusing mostly on improving the academic environments, enhancing functionality, and increasing energy efficiency, our work on the renovations included modernized chemistry laboratories (that mirror real-life work environments), a new information sciences and technology lab (with collaborative learning space), and updated communications laboratories (supporting reporting, television production, media presentation, and?The Roar, a student newspaper).

The building¡¯s infrastructure was also updated to include new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems as well as new bathrooms and a new elevator. With these improvements, our team helped breathe new life into the tired science facility.?
