SAE Mobility Data Collaborative Guidelines

SAE International¡¯s Mobility Data Collaborative includes private, public, and academic institutions focused on addressing issues associated with the sharing and use of mobility data. When SAE International wanted to develop guidelines around data sharing, we served as technical lead.

Our job? Helping to draft the guidelines, which included writing objectives and recommendations in support of each section. The guidelines address complicated and evolving issues around data sharing with a focus on next-generation mobility solutions including privacy, contracting and licensing, consumer trust, and requests associated with public records and law enforcement. Our team also worked on outreach¡ªparticipating in webinars and writing blog posts that discussed the project¡¯s processes, goals, and findings.

The Mobility Data Collaborative Guidelines provide a foundation for aligning interests and collaborating to effectively and responsibly share data. This includes the coordination of use case identification, the support of resources that promote risk assessment and mitigation around data privacy and security, and the promotion of educational opportunities for regulations and best practices.
