Saline County Career Technical Education Center

When the Saline County Economic Development Corporation¡ªalong with seven of the county¡¯s public school districts¡ªneeded a conceptual design for a next generation career and technical education facility, we joined the project to facilitate community engagement, visioning, space programming, site-master planning, and design.

Situated on a 22-acre site, the center will encompass a uniquely planned two-story split level scheme that accommodates the site topography and program needs. The facility will support approximately 1,400 high school students per day, along with provisions for community and adult education and training programs.

Learning environments will include specialized labs, fabrication studios, and maker spaces to support curricular needs and project-based learning pedagogies. Collaboration spaces, break-out zones, and conference rooms will promote active learning, and the Innovation Zone¡ªa multi-use meeting and presentation space¡ªwill become the heart of the center and accommodate lectures, distance learning, presentations, competitions, and career days. Thanks to this design, the Saline County Career Technical Education Center will serve as a new benchmark for the state of Arkansas.

A future phase of the project will include a 40,000 square foot expansion providing existing and new program growth.?
