Wall Springs Coast Addition

From the time when the Tocobaga and Timucuan Indians roamed the peninsula, the area now known as Wall Springs Park has been a gathering spot for recreation seekers. Centered around a historical, natural spring once used as a spa and bathing area, the park includes a viewing area, boardwalk, natural trails, and a 35-foot observation tower overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. To expand the park from 84 to 209 acres, Pinellas County worked with our team over the course of 15 years to help realize the county¡¯s vision to protect a larger natural area.

Located on the gulf with varied topography, the added park areas encompass a wide variety of native habitats and associated plant and animal life. In addition to natural resources, 11 known prehistoric archeological sites exist on the grounds, dating from roughly 1,000 BCE through 1,600 CE. This is one of the few parts of coastal Pinellas County with intact archaeological deposits not completely disturbed by urban development, offering a rare example of the prehistoric archaeological record of the area.

With its expansion, Wall Springs Park will continue to provide a natural respite and enrich the surrounding community for years to come.
