Lee’s main responsibility is to manage and lead the Whangārei team, which works closely with the various Northland district councils to manage and maintain the roading network in this, at times challenging, relatively remote region of the country. Lee has over twenty years’ experience with roadways and road networks—this doesn’t just mean out on the road, but in the office, doing the work needed to set up new networks or rejuvenate existing ones.
The projects Lee and the team work on are multifaceted. Before design can even begin, complex planning and budgeting must be completed including full cost benefit analyses and a range of approvals from both local and national governments.
What does Lee enjoy most? The people he gets involved with. He loves to see a team of people come together to produce something exceptional, something that really helps the local community, something with real impact on where we live. ?
When Lee isn’t working with the Whangārei and Northland teams, he enjoys travelling, and is a true armchair sports fanatic with a particular fondness for rugby union team the Waikato Chiefs.
