The Canopy Lane Cove
The Canopy Lane Cove project in New South Wales was started with the goal of creating a new dynamic public community space. The council-funded project focuses on transforming the area to provide a retail precinct with a Coles, Aldi, and accessible car parking. Our team’s contribution started from concept design right through to final commissioning and handover—we provided engineering consultancy design in mechanical engineering, hydraulic engineering, and vertical transport.
The Revit coordination was a challenging aspect of this project: the underground section for the new public domain above led the management of services to be complicated. Another hurdle faced in the project included the coordination of significant mechanical components like smoke exhausts, car park air intakes and discharges, along with a shopping centre heat rejection plant. Our engineer’s close collaboration with stakeholders every step of the way assured the needs of the project were met accordingly. We used computational fluid dynamics and carbon dioxide modelling of the car park to simplify the amount of new infrastructure required to ventilate the car park.
Completed in 2020, the goal of this project was to transform the community by solving problems through creative solutions, and we believe we did just that.
