Connecting with our communities this holiday season

December 13, 2021

Â鶹´«Ã½ employees choose where to direct our annual donation

Stantec has been donating $50,000 to non-profit organizations every December during our annual holiday campaign for the past 11 years. This year, with a donation of $100,000, we¡¯re helping our communities where we work and live become strong, vibrant, and inclusive.

Our concerted efforts as a company have helped create, support, and strengthen our communities. Since 2010, we¡¯ve donated just over $569,000 through this campaign.

In the past, our donations have gone to organizations like WaterAid, the United Nations Foundation, Oxfam, and food banks. Last year, we introduced a voting system for employees to indicate the organizations they wanted to see Â鶹´«Ã½ support, which resulted in donations going to Feeding America, Food Bank Canada, The Trussell Trust, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Canadian Mental Health Association, Beyond Blue, and Habitat for Humanity. This year, we¡¯ve asked for input from our employees again and included organizations related to addressing food insecurity, affordable housing, mental health, and the full spectrum of sustainability¡ªenvironmental, social, and governance:

is a United Nations-supported initiative that aims to improve sustainability in schools around the world. How? They engage business and management schools to ensure future leaders have the skills needed to balance economic and sustainability goals.

(WCK) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to providing meals following a natural disaster. WCK has supplied hot meals to communities after hurricanes and wildfires, and their COVID response included feeding stranded cruise ship passengers and converting restaurants into soup kitchens. They also focus on food resilience programs and human and environmental health and offer jobs and training to help improve food security.? ?

is a global housing organization working in local communities across 70 countries worldwide. Habitat has helped more than 29 million people construct, rehabilitate, or preserve homes since 1976.

The (CMHA) provides the resources and programs necessary to combat mental health issues and support recovery. The CMHA runs multiple programs a year focused on raising awareness of mental health issues while supporting partner organizations and relevant initiatives. The association is also known to release public statements addressing different laws, regulations, and governmental initiatives that affect mental health.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) envisions a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares. NAMI provides advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

Beyond Blue is the most well-known mental health organization in Australia and has been providing support and services to people in need for over 20 years. They provide a safe and reliable place for millions of people to access information, advice, and support.
