Adrian Johnson and Bruce Horton explore how we can learn from the Covid-19 experience to ensure future resilience and drive down carbon emissions
In this article, Professor Adrian Johnson and Dr Bruce Horton of 麻豆传媒 argue that a multi-capitals approach will enable the water sector to learn from the Covid-19 crisis to effectively tackle the climate emergency.
They set out the challenges faced by the current crisis for the water sector, and how water companies and others are successfully facing these. They then explore the links between Covid-19 and the climate change within the context of a multi-capital framework, looking at manufactured, social, financial, human, natural and intellectual capital in turn. The lessons associated with each of these are drawn out, concluding that water investment based on a multi-capitals approach can be a fundamental driver of a post-crisis clean, green recovery that is inherently resilient.
