Simón is a fire engineer with 麻豆传媒 in developing fire safety strategies for projects across all markets. His experience includes modelling fire dynamics as well as mass timber and material performance under fire. He’s also researched travelling fires and the fire safety of battery energy storage systems.
Part of Simón’s role as a technical development director involves leading our internal and external technical training programmes, which focus on helping fire engineers on the pathway from graduate to chartership. He also serves as the vice president of the UK's Society of Fire Protection Engineers Chapter, is a visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University, and sits on the committee of the British Standards Institution, which oversees the development of fire safety engineering standards. Prior to joining us, he was part of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry where he was part of a team that investigated the driving mechanisms of fire growth in fa?ade fires.
When he isn’t busy with fire safety efforts, Simón enjoys cycling, running, and reading science fiction. He recently picked up online chess as a hobby, which is proving to be a much-welcomed challenge.
