High Speed Rail 2 (HS2) - Phase 1: AW6 Enabling Works Framework

Phase one of the High - Speed Rail 2 (HS2) route will provide dedicated fast connections between London and Birmingham. Our team was one of three design consultants appointed to a joint contracting venture between Morgan Sindall, BAM Nuttall and Ferrovial Agroman. The Central Area package of three ?400m enabling works contracts were awarded in Autumn 2016, under a three-year framework.

We are providing full design, environmental and consents support for a major interchange and haul road enabling works package. In October 2017, we were appointed to deliver the scheme design, including stakeholder engagement and preliminary design, which will provide access for National Grid power diversions and construction of the Chiltern Tunnel.

When the project is finished, the scheme will deliver improvements to two major motorway interchanges and create a haul road designed to be in place for a decade. These advance works will enable the construction of the main scheme design and minimise negative impacts on the environment and local communities by routing of construction traffic off the strategic and local road network.?
