Fire engineering design
We deliver fire safety engineering design and analysis up to RIBA Stage 5, and we also monitor on-site during construction. Our support includes design and analysis on everything from means of escape to fire and rescue service provision, fire impact, and external fire spread. We use digital twins and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to predict the spread of fire and smoke. Before planning permission is granted, owners must submit a fire statement, and the local planning authorities must consult the fire and rescue authority to confirm all considerations have been covered. Our team can guide you through this process while providing a continuous thread of digital information through each stage of the building¡¯s lifecycle.External walls appraisal
If you need investigations, reporting, remedial design, or monitoring of external walls, our fire safety specialists can help. Our work covers existing developments and new builds, with a focus on tall buildings. We conduct fire risk appraisals of external walls (FRAEW) to all standards, including the PAS 9980 risk assessment standard, and we can help you through the Building Safety Act gateway process. We also appraise external walls to enable the issue of an EWS1 certificate¡ªExternal Wall System Fire Review¡ªfor mortgage lenders.
